Uzbekistan – 11-18 May 2019-06-25

Brian and Pat Wetton decided to do back-to-back trips with Birdfinders to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in 2019. In Uzbekistan they had the opportunity to combine birdwatching with visits to the Silk Road Cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Tashkent to admire the restored and beautiful buildings and learn something of the history of this country. Uzbekistan was a welcoming country and we enjoyed the luxury of a small group with just ourselves, Steve Cooper and our leaders Vaughan Ashby and Zazhid. We travelled from the Tien Shan Mountains in the east to the Kyzyl-Kum Desert in the west and stayed in nice hotels throughout. We saw 112 species of birds of which 8 were new.

Itinerary:

12 May – Flights omward to Almaty & Tashkent. Drive to Beldersay in W Tien Shan
